The Illinois Broadcasters Association handed out its annual Silver Dome Awards on Tuesday night in Normal, IL. Named after the dome that tops the Illinois Capital Building, these are the awards given for the best work from Television & Radio stations throughout Illinois in 2023. Central Illinois Multimedia Group radio stations in Danville, WDAN-AM/WDNL-FM/WRHK-FM received five honors throughout the evening.
First place honors were handed out in the following categories.
Best Radio Personality … Tommy B for “Tommy B’s Big Show,” his second consecutive win.
Best Humorous Radio Commercial … Jocko’s “Scary Good Pizza.”
Best Radio Series or Documentary … The “March Forth Moments” series won for the second consecutive year.
Best Hard News Story … Steve Brandy on the “Abortion Clinic Vote.”
Best Radio Light News Feature … Steve Brandy for “Local Political Screw-up.” This is his third straight win in this category.
All of these honors were within the Small Market Radio Category in Illinois.
