THE FOLLOWING IS A CITY OF DANVILLE RELEASE
The City of Danville would like to announce the continued complete lane closure on the southboundlane on South Walnut to South Street. A contractor will be constructing a sanitary sewer line replacement as part of the Ellsworth Park Lift Station and Sanitary Sewer Improvement Project.
The lane closure will be along the curved roadway from Reiker Court adjacent to the David S. Palmer Arena to the west entrance roadway at the Public Safety Building on South Street and will continue to last through early December 2024, weather permitting.
This closure will impact only motorists traveling southbound on Walnut Street and all northbound motorist will not be impacted. Detour signage have been placed to use South Jackson Street to South Street around the lane closure. Motorists and pedestrians are urged to use caution while traveling near the roadway closure corridor.
