Description of Incident:
The Danville Fire Department responded to the 1800 Blk of East Main Street on Monday, October 21, 2024, for a reported house on fire. While enroute to the fire, dispatchers reported that up to four individuals may be staying in the structure. Upon arrival, firefighters reported seeing fire coming from the structure. Firefighters from Fire Station #3 quickly began attacking the fire, while other members of the fire department initiated a rapid search of the building. A primary and secondary search of the building concluded that no one was in the building at the time of the fire.
Ameren arrived on scene to assist fire fighters and determined that there was no electrical or gas service to the building.
The Fire is thought to be incendiary. The fire is under investigation by the Danville Fire Department. The Fire Department was assisted by the Office of the Illinois State Fire Marshal. Anyone with information about the fire should call the Fire Department at (217) 431-2350.

Fire Cause: Incendiary.
