THE FOLLOWING IS A CITY OF DANVILLE RELEASE
The City of Danville would like to announce that Norfolk Southern Railroad has informed the City they will need to have complete closures at the roadway crossings for construction maintenance of their tracks. The revised schedule for closures will begin on Monday, October 28, 2024, having a number of street crossings along the Norfolk Southern Railroad closed to traffic while the crossings are having upgraded rail maintenance.
The following revised scheduled street crossings impacted by these closures within the City of Danville as provided are highlighted below:
1970 E Danville October 28th- October 29th
299 Voorhees St. Danville 28th- October 29th
PRIES ST Danville October 28th- October 29th
BOWMAN AVE Danville November 4th- 7th
N MARTIN ST Danville October 29th- October 30th
WILLIAMS ST Danville October 29th- October 30th
VAN BUREN ST Danville Vermillion IL 50 Gang October 29th- October 30th
E MAIN ST Danville November 11th- November 15th
SOUTH ST Danville October 28th- October 29th
E 3RD ST Danville October 28th- October 29th
R W ROSS LANE Danville October 28th- October 29
The work may extend across several of the crossings at one time and is anticipated to last through the week. Bowman Avenue and East Main Street crossing closures will follow the following two weeks. Motorists should use caution around the work zone and choose an alternate route. Detour signage will be in place during the closures.
