The Vermilion County Sheriff’s Department says an accident this (Wed Nov 20th) morning near Westville has cost one person his life. The Sheriff’s Office says a single occupant was driving a vehicle east of Westville on 1200 North Road, and was driving at a high rate of speed and passing multiple vehicles. Near 1800 East Road, the single vehicle failed to negotiate a curve, and the vehicle then ended up in a ditch, with the driver later pronounced deceased. No other vehicles were involved in the accident. Authorities received the call on this accident at 11:12 AM.
Identification of the victim in this accident is pending from the Vermilion County Coroner’s Office.
