Champaign County Coroner Duane Northrup has released the names of two women found dead early Sunday (March 29, 2020) in their home in St. Joseph. He says the victims are 54-year-old Kimberly Coyne and her 24-year-old daughter, Blair Coyne.
The Coroner says both women appeared to have been shot and their deaths are being investigated by the Champaign County Sheriff’s Department and Coroner’s Office as homicides.
Sheriff’s Police located a suspect in the deaths and say Jonathon Perry was transported to the Champaign County Correctional Center where he is charged with murder.
Sheriff’s Police had been called to the home in St. Joseph Township at about 4:15 Sunday morning to check the welfare of its residents. Deputies say the suspect, Jonathon Perry, had made statements which led the person who called the Sheriff’s Department to believe the residents had been injured or possibly killed.
