THE FOLLOWING IS A VERMILION ADVANTAGE RELEASE
Vermilion Advantage is pleased to announce the addition of Mike Levin as our Vermilion County Trustee Director. Vermilion Advantage recently entered into an agreement with Vermilion County Government to run the County’s Trustee program which is an effort to recoup delinquent taxes on behalf of the taxing districts in the County. The County Trustee, in this case Vermilion Advantage, manages properties the County has taken ownership of through the tax delinquency process. Vermilion Advantage, the economic development authority in Vermilion County, is uniquely positioned to strategically get those properties in the hands of investors that can make those properties both commercial and residential viable again. It is a key move in future redevelopment in the County.
Mike Levin joins Vermilion Advantage with an extensive background in public policy, getting his professional start as a staffer in the Illinois General Assembly. He has extensive knowledge in Housing Policy, working in governmental affairs for many years for both the Illinois and Nevada Realtors, working both in Springfield and Las Vegas. Mike garnered an immense amount of knowledge and experience on the private sector side of the development issue representing the Realtors at a particularly dynamic time and challenging time in a major market like Las Vegas. Mike brings a range of other professional experiences that will be of great value to the Vermilion Advantage Team, from legislative experience on Senator Bill Brady’s staff to representing Illinois Farmers as the head of Governmental Affairs for the Illinois Soybean Association.
“Mike Levin will not only do a great job of utilizing the County’s Trustee Program to implement strategy on redevelopment and blight reduction in our communities, his knowledge will be invaluable as Vermilion Advantage seeks to advocate for our members on all levels of government to build a business-friendly County and also better engage our number one industry, agriculture.” CEO Mike Marron.
“I am excited to hit the ground running as the new County Trustee Director. Together, we look forward to transforming land assets into a catalyst for positive change in our County. “
