THE FOLLOWING RELEASE IS FROM CONGRESSWOMAN MARY MILLER’S OFFICE
WASHINGTON – Today, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the Laken Riley Act, which requires the Department of Homeland Security to arrest illegal aliens who have criminal records. Congresswoman Mary Miller (R-IL) made the following statement:
“Today, House Republicans passed the Laken Riley Act to honor the memory a 22-year-old woman who was murdered last year by an illegal alien, who never should’ve been allowed to cross into our country. For four years, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris allowed terrorists, gang members, drug traffickers, and child predators to walk across our border and take taxpayer-funded flights to all fifty states.
“The Riley family would not be grieving today if it were not for weak ‘America Last’ decision-making coming from the White House. Today, 159 House Democrats voted against protecting our women and girls from criminal aliens, but the passage of this legislation in a Republican-controlled Congress marks the return of ‘America First’ policies. House Republicans are ready to advance the Trump administration’s ‘America First’ policies that will protect and strengthen American families and return this country to greatness!”
