The victim told Cobbins she was going to call the police. It was at this time Cobbins grabbed the victim by the shirt with both hands and dragged her to a bedroom at the
back of the house. Officers arrived and observed lacerations on the victim’s forehead and cheek.
State’s Attorney Jacqueline Lacy thanked the Danville Police officers for their swift response in this case. She said, “We cannot tolerate violence in Vermilion County, especially when it involves repeated abuse within families. Domestic violence is a serious offense that affects not only the victims, but the entire community. My office will continue to seek serious sentences in cases of domestic violence.”
