The Eastern Illinois Foodbank has announced another drive-through supplemental food giveaway coming to Tilton on Saturday (April 4, 2020). It will be held at 1803 Georgetown Road (the former Gaudio building).
Hours for the distribution are from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 on Saturday. The event is open to all Vermilion County residents who meet certain income guidelines.
A single person can receive up to $1,926 and still qualify. A couple can receive up to $2,607 a month, and a three-member household up to $3,289 a month. Larger households can make more and still qualify for food. A four-member household can receive up to $3,970 and a five member household up to $4,652.
It was just last weekend that the Eastern Illinois Foodbank held its first drive-through distribution at Tilton. The event was termed a success so the Foodbank is holding another one there.
Food being distributed in this supplemental program includes canned vegetables and fruit, canned beans and tuna, pasta and pasta sauce, peanut butter and jelly, milk and produce.
