Tim Smith, retired Danville attorney, was recently honored by the Illiana Genealogical & Historical Society Foundation as the recipient of its 2025 Historical Preservation Award for his research and writings on the life of Joseph G. “Uncle Joe” Cannon, former U.S. Speaker of the House from Danville.
