Vermilion County Sheriff’s Police and the County Coroner’s Office are probing the discovery of some possible human remains.
Chief Sheriff’s Investigator Michael Hartshorn told VermilionCountyFirst.com News that ‘’what is believed to be human remains’’ were found in a rural area near Indianola Friday afternoon (April 10, 2020).
Hartshorn said Sunday afternoon that authorities are still awaiting confirmation of the remains by a medical examiner. He said no other information is being released about the investigation at this time.
Indianola is located in the south-central portion of Vermilion County. The remains were reportedly found on private property.
