THE FOLLOWING IS AN OSF RELEASE
(July 28, 2025 | Danville, Illinois) – OSF HealthCare Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville continues to provide critical, on-demand services to Vermilion County residents where they are. One of the final opportunities of the summer comes this Thursday, July 31, as the OSF Care-a-Van, the hospital’s mobile health unit, will participate in the Back to School Bash at the Vermilion County Health Department (200 S. College St., Danville). The overall event is free and runs from 2 to 6 p.m.
OSF pediatricians will offer physical exams for children at a cost of $35, or insurance can be billed. Financial help is also available. OSF reminds you that Illinois requires an up-to-date physical exam for kids entering Kindergarten, sixth and ninth grades, plus for participation in sports. Spots for physicals at the OSF pediatric clinic fill up quickly, and the school year will be here soon. So, parents are encouraged not to miss this opportunity.
Other community groups will also be at the Back to School Bash, offering giveaways and information on local health resources. The health department will also be offering vaccines for all ages.
Since 2022, the OSF Care-a-Van has been serving Vermilion County, providing health screenings and education for hundreds of people, young and old, who can’t make it to the hospital or clinic. By building relationships with residents and community stakeholders, OSF is ensuring people get on the right track to better health care management. The Care-a-Van was made possible by a generous gift from the Julius W. Hegeler II Foundation.
