Danville residents are allowed to cook out on their grills during the COVID-19 pandemic. But if you do – be careful. Danville Firefighters found heavy flames and smoke coming from a home in the 600 block of West Columbia Street when they arrived there Monday afternoon (April 13, 2020).
The fire was in a breezeway area between the home and a garage. Fire officials determined some leaves had blown onto a grill that was being used. Flames from the leaves spread setting the house on fire. The fire is listed as accidental, but it left damages estimated at $10,000.
