THE FOLLOWING IS A DANVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT RELEASE
On August 21, 2025, at approximately 8:42 AM, officers with the patrol division were dispatched to Danville Area Community College (DACC), located at 2000 E. Main Street, for the report of a road rage incident where the suspect produced a firearm.
During the initial investigation, officers learned that the incident started near the intersection of E. Main Street and Indiana Street. The victims traveled to the intersection of Baumgart St and Home Street and were followed by the suspect.
Once at that location, the victims described that the suspect made threatening statements toward them while holding a firearm.
The suspect was positively identified as Shoshanna M. Boens of Danville, IL.
Boens’ vehicle was located and towed to the Public Safety Building. A search warrant was executed on the car, and a firearm was recovered.
Boens was located and arrested on the preliminary charges of Aggravated Assault and Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
The Danville Police would like to announce that this was an isolated incident that occurred near the DACC campus. At no point was the safety of the DACC campus in question.
The Danville Police Department reminds the public that all suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
No other information will be released at this time.
