The new Fiscal Year 2026 for Danville Area Community College began on July 1st, and the budget must be finalized by September 30th. The DACC Board of Trustees approved putting the budget on display at their Thursday, August 21st meeting. A few minutes after that, Chief Financial Officer and Vice President in Charge of Finance Tammy Betancourt stated the revenue and expenditure figures for the new budget.
AUDIO: Both are going up by 3.8%. And both the revenues and expenditures are $21,540,000. They are the same because we have a balanced budget.
Betancourt says a couple of major factors went the other way this year, making balancing the budget a little easier.
AUDIO: You know it gets challenging every year, with enrollment declines. But enrollment has been up, and that has made a big difference. And we also have received additional state funds in Fiscal 26. So that has also helped a lot.
The budget will be posted on the Danville Area Community College website starting Friday, August 22nd. The public hearing and vote are scheduled for the September 25th Board of Trustees meeting.
