Vermilion County Coroner Jane McFadden has released the identity of a woman who was killed early Friday (April 17, 2020) in a single-vehicle crash just outside Danville. She says the victim is 43-year-old Carrie A. Nixon of Danville.
Vermilion County Sheriff’s Police say Nixon was the sole occupant of a vehicle which left the 1800 block of Vine Street and struck a utility pole. The vehicle then careened into a deep ravine.
McFadden adds the cause and manner of the death remains under investigation by Sheriff’s Police and the Coroner’s Office. Deputies and Danville Firefighters were notified about the crash at 2:45 Friday morning.
