THE FOLLOWING IS A DANVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT RELEASE
On November 3, 2025, around 8 a.m., District 118 staff notified Danville Police that an anonymous caller had contacted the district office and stated “school shooting, 10 a.m.,” and then hung up. District 118 staff and Danville Police School Resource Officers immediately began investigating the call and assessing the threat’s credibility as schools entered soft lockdown status.
Due to the seriousness of the threat, District 118 administration decided to cancel all school activities and send students home. The Danville Police Department is taking this threat seriously and is actively pursuing leads to identify the caller. The investigation into this incident continues, and no further information is being released at this time.
