Contestant Who Sang Death Metal During Beauty Pageant Crowned Miss World Chile

Ignacia Fernández, a 27-year-old death metal singer and lead vocalist of the band Decessus, won the Miss World Chile 2025 pageant on Sunday (November 9) after impressing judges and audiences with her powerful extreme metal performance during the semifinals. After that viral performance, Fernández shared that, “Metal has been a fundamental part of who I am as a person and in my life: a refuge, a source of strength and purpose. Being able to express it on stage was an opportunity I deeply value.” Following the competition, Fernández shared a photo on Instagram of her crowned as Miss World Chile, writing in the caption: “Thank you for the worldwide recognition of my singing, a little piece of my soul that inspires me to keep growing and dreaming big.
