THE FOLLOWING IS A NEWS-GAZETTE STORY BY JENNIFER BAILEY
OAKWOOD — With about 3,000 Christmas trees in multiple fields on his property, Kenneth Dunbar literally trims every tree at Bucktown Tree Farm.
He starts around the first of July, and it takes him until the end of August.
Walking through the trees now, some are already tagged by families who found their perfect tree early.
“We have some big ones in the back field too. We’ve got some nice-looking trees this year,” said his wife, Julie.
This time next year, Julie will be able to spend more time at their tree farm; she’s retiring next month from Vermilion Chevrolet.
The farm is nestled on about 5 acres in the Bucktown neighborhood area off Gray Siding Road along U.S. 150 between Danville and Oakwood.
