THE FOLLOWING IS A SLEEP IN HEAVENLY PEACE RELEASE
Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP) is a volunteer-driven nonprofit dedicated to building and delivering hand-made, fully furnished beds to children in need. SHP’s mission is to tackle SHP is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Federal ID: 46-4346568. Since our inception of the Danville hub in September 30 beds have been delivered. We plan to make 80 beds at this event to get as many kids off the floor and into warm beds as we can. We have 160 kids still on our waiting list. We are asking for volunteers!
Volunteering with SHP provides the opportunity to meet other wonderful volunteers within our community. Rubbing shoulders with complete strangers while building a bed for a child in need can turn into lifelong friendships. The project brings people closer together as we are all focused on the same goal, helping children Sleep in Heavenly Peace.
Volunteers will have a chance to learn how to use woodworking tools such as saws, drills, sanders and many other pieces of equipment. You will learn how to measure, level and make true wood cuts; how to sand and stain wood; and even get to see how branding a bed works!
Volunteering Requirements
Each volunteer is required to fill out an Indemnification Release Form. Children under the age of 12 are asked to be supervised by a parent/guardian at all times. Minors 12 and older are required to be accompanied by a legal guardian, for their safety and the safety of all our volunteers. You can pre-register at https://volunteer.shpbeds.org/opportunities/W4DY1xBN2a
