CIMG is offering thoughts and prayers for the family and friends of Lois Wise, who served as secretary for Julius W. Hegeler II for over 20 years, after her recent passing.
Lois Wise was born in Chicago Heights, and came to Danville in 1965. She was very involved with the Julius W. Hegeler II Foundation; having served on that board as well as others in the Danville area, including the Danville Symphony Orchestra.
The Julius W. Hegeler II Foundation was established in 1992; with a stated mission to serve disabled children, local hospitals, local schools, community events; and to assist with preservation of local landmarks.
Julius W. Hegeler II Foundation Director Phil Muehl offered the following thoughts about Lois Wise to CIMG:
Lois was a valuable member of the Julius W Hegeler II Foundation board for many years. She not only served the Foundation as its board secretary, but played an important role in managing the daily operational and financial activities. I always appreciated her insight and perspective that she shared with us.
Lois was also a very elegant, yet personal lady. She was a pleasure to be around and always had a smile to share. Her charm and caring demeanor will certainly be missed.
Gary Resh, part of a special group of friends that met with Lois Wise weekly, added this:
Lois was very supportive of the Danville Community, Danville Area Community College, Balloons Over Vermilion and Festival of Trees, the Danville Symphony Orchestra, and so much more. She was very gracious and very special to all of her friends; and she will be missed.
Visitation for Lois Wise is scheduled for 3 PM to 5 PM; Saturday, December 6th; at Sunset Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life for Lois Wise will follow at 5 PM.
