Danville City Council members approved the Semi-Final Subdivision Plat for the Carle at the Riverfront project last night. Site preparation for the $70-million dollar development continues with two buildings on the northwest portion of the site yet to be demolished.
Carle plans to relocate its medical offices from North Vermilion and West Fairchild Streets to its new Carle at the Riverfront location once construction is completed.
Also last night, Danville City Council members awarded a contract for construction of a new concession and restroom building as part of the Historic Ellsworth Park Development Project. The building is just part of the improvements coming to Ellsworth Park. It will be located north of U.S. route 150 in an area out of the flood plain.
Danville City Council members also voted to amend agreements for engineering services for the Northwest Sanitary Sewer Service Area and Denmark Road Improvement Project. City Engineer Sam Cole said the $9.3 million dollar cost represents the sanitary sewer portion of the project and does not include the roadwork. Cole says it’s anticipated bidding for the road improvements along Denmark Road stretching across the Dallas Bowman bridge will not occur until next winter – with the work expected during 2021. Cole added there is a possibility the City might receive a credit for almost $3-million dollars of the sewer portion of the project.
