News story here.
About a year after their initial “No Kings Rally” outside VA Illiana Health Care, the Vermilion County Indivisibles group called for a rally late Saturday afternoon in response to this past week’s controversial ICE shooting in Minneapolis.
A crowd of about 70 at 4:30 had grown past 100 by about 5 PM. And one of the organizers, DeeAnn Ryan said that first, it was a great crowd for a late arranged rally; and second, she expects Vermilion County’s Indivisibles chapter to stay active for another year, and then another and another.

AUDIO: It’s a good turnout for such a short notice. It’ll be here four years later probably, until we get this all resolved. It’s going to go on; we’re going to be out here a lot.
Stopping by to speak his opinion, and offer a prayer for the gathering, was Danville City Council Alderman Ed Butler.
AUDIO: We don’t like what’s going on, coming from Washington on down; and it’s trickling down there to our different cities. It just makes no sense. Because all it’s doing is inciting violence between our different cities and countries.
DeeAnn Ryan says the next Vermilion County Indivisibles rally will likely be in February, focusing on cuts to child care and social services.
