TILTON — What a few weeks and a community coming together leads to in making a local difference.
When The News-Gazette reported about the snow and ice taking down part of the fascia on 90-year-old Korean War veteran David Levite’s home in early December, it was a story that spread fast, and hearts opened wide to help someone in need.
“It’s all fixed now, thanks to The News-Gazette,” Levite said, thanking too those who read the newspaper.
St. Joseph’s Greg Knott, who accompanied Levite on an Honor Flight several years ago, helped raise money for the home repair by reaching out to the community.
Levite said the ice built up in his roof eave and took the fascia all off the north side of his home.
