On Wednesday, February 25th more than 200 students from nine area schools gathered at the Danville High School Field House for the Career Blitz, an interactive career exploration event that is part of the Vermilion County Workforce Education (VCWE) initiative.
Designed to connect students with real-world opportunities, the event was designed to feature 13 local businesses and organizations representing a variety of industries. Through hands-on activities and rotating sessions, students were exploring career pathways in fields such as healthcare, manufacturing, agriculture, engineering, public service, education, technology, and more.

As a key component of the VCWE initiative, the Career Blitz supports efforts to strengthen the local talent pipeline by helping students better understand career options, required skills, and the many opportunities available within Vermilion County and the surrounding region. The event also was reinforcing partnerships between schools, employers, and community leaders working together to prepare students for future success.
“Career exploration experiences like the Career Blitz help students see the connection between what they are learning today and the opportunities available to them in the future,” said Jodie Ingram, Workforce Education Director. “By bringing together schools and industry partners, we are giving students the chance to ask questions, discover interests, and begin thinking about pathways that lead to meaningful careers.”
