OLIVET — When traveling Illinois 1 in Vermilion County, most might think they know what La Salette Academy is.
Headmaster Father Timothy Sick said some people may incorrectly think it’s a reform school.
The Catholic boarding school for boys in eighth through 12th grade was founded in 2005. This year marks the 20th year since its first graduating class.
The school is located in Olivet, a hamlet of about 300 people between Georgetown and Ridge Farm. The town’s name comes from the college that once was located there.
“The kids that we get here are excellent, excellent kids,” Sick said. “There is a pretty rigorous application process, screening process. They really have to want to be here.”
