A meeting scheduled for 6 PM; this coming Thursday, April 9th in the Oakwood Village Hall Board Room; will explore the possibility of reforming ambulance service for Oakwood, Fithian, Muncie, Collison, Fairmount, Jamaica, and Sidell; into a special taxpayer funded service district.
As Oakwood Emergency Rescue Service Director Zach Weddle explained to CIMG, all of those communities are already served by the Oakwood Emergency Rescue Service, but as a village owned entity. Weddle says the billing cycle under that set up prevents the service from keeping up with its overhead costs, and that talks of going to a taxpayer funded service district have been on going for about six months.
Once again; that’s a Thursday, April 9th 6 PM meeting in the Oakwood Village Hall Board Room.
