THE FOLLOWING IS AN ILLINOIS GENEALOGICAL & HISTORICAL SOCIETY RELEASE
The Illiana Genealogical & Historical Society is hosting an open house to showcase its new library addition on Sunday, April 26, at 2:00 p.m., at the IGHS Library, 215 W. North Street, Danville, Illinois.
The new library space has been created through the renovation of an adjacent double garage storage area, primarily through the generosity of the Julius W. Hegeler II Foundation. Speakers for the event will be Sue Richter and Todd Lee, co-chairs of the Vermilion County 200th Anniversary Committee. Refreshments will be served and tours of the IGHS Library will be given.

Mark Denman, IGHS President, stated, “We very appreciative of the substantial support of the Julius W. Hegeler II Foundation along with that of the John P. Cadle Foundation and our many donors. In addition to the new library space, new furniture and carpeting have been purchased. The major upgrades allow IGHS to have the additional space for our growing collections as well as our programming. These improvements will allow us to better serve our patrons.”
All are welcome to attend. Please RSVP by April 19 (ighs.research@outlook.com or 217-431-8733).
