During Tuesday evening’s (April 21st) Danville City Council meeting, Community Development Administrator Logan Cronk stated that Downtown Danville businesses, starting May 1st, will be able to apply for Tax Increment Financing (TIF) District revenue.
AUDIO: I would send anybody that’s interested to the City of Danville TIF’s Website. An application is made to the City of Danville, with contractor proposals, for only TIF eligible items. Now those items are typically structural. It is intended to increase the structural value of the property, to increase its taxing base. So anywhere from electrical, drywall, roof, facade, etc; those types of projects are eligible for reimbursement through the city’s program.
Cronk says applications will be open through at least the end of May. Grants are capped at $50,000; with the city usually aiming for 50% reimbursement.
Also Tuesday evening, Danville Fire Chief Aaron Marcott presented the department’s annual report; stating afterwards that he was quite satisfied with the overall 17,700 hours of additional training for firefighters over the past year; with much more planned for this year.

AUDIO: Shows how prepared and ready we are for almost anything that can come our way, or at least we’re trying to be. So, it’s definitely a reflection of the people and their commitment to the job, and how hard they’re all working. We got a big lineup coming this summer, so it’ll be a busy summer as always.
Chief Marcott also mentioned that the Danville Fire Department battled 63 structural fires in 2025.
