Four VA Illiana Health Care System police officers are being honored with some national awards. They have been selected as National Police Award recipients by the Office of Security and Law Enforcement for 2019.
- Jayson Thomson has been selected as the Administrative Support Officer of the Year.
- Joshua Youngblood has been named the Police Officer of the Year.
- David Rusk III was selected as the Supervisory Officer of the Year.
- Shawn Harper was named Deputy Chief of the Year.
It is the fourth year in a row that police officers from VA Illiana have received the award. ‘’These officers excel in providing an exceptional level of service and innovation to our medical center and allow us to provide the best Police services to our veterans, visitors and staff,’’ said Shawn Bransky, Medical Center Director at the VA Illiana Health Care System. ‘’These professionals are the best of best and I am extremely proud of the efforts this team has performed keeping VA Illiana a safe environment,’’ added Director Bransky.
