“These accomplishments show what dedication and opportunity can create,” said Michael Guido Esteves. “That’s the beauty of esports. Even though we are one of the smaller programs in the NJCAA, there is national-level talent here. I just have to find it.”
The continued success of the program highlights the growth of collegiate esports and the opportunities available to student competitors at DACC. Beyond competition, the esports program has become an important community space for students on campus.
“It has been an enormous opportunity to earn a scholarship playing esports,” said Chase Williams, a two-time national champion and NJCAAE All-Academic Team member. “On top of winning, the DACC esports lab has been a social outlet for me.”
With seven national championships and numerous top-three finishes, the DACC esports program continues to prove that elite competitive talent can thrive at programs of any size.
