Balloons Over Vermilion is this Friday and Saturday. And despite this year’s move from Vermilion Regional Airport to Kennekuk County Park, Danville Director of Public Works Dave Ruwe says although Kennekuk is outside city limits, his department’s BOV contributions will continue. CIMG caught up with Ruwe at Tuesday evening’s City Council meeting.
AUDIO: The city’s involved in doing the exact same thing we’ve done every other year. It’s just a different location. Our Department does the picnic tables, fences, and then just some barricades and stuff. We use our regular crew, during the workday; additional staff that the Balloons Over Vermilion team puts together; I think the resources on that weekend, and everything else. So we’re able to do our stuff on our normal time hours.
Danville’s Mayor Rickey Williams, Jr says it’s great for Balloons Over Vermilion to partner with the Danville community. It all begins at 3 PM, Friday June 5th at Kennekuk County Park.
