In a recent interview, Megan Thee Stallion reveals how she ended up working with Beyonce on her “Savage” remix. Megan said that Beyonce's people actually reached out to her. She said, “I really can’t believe it, because being from Houston Beyoncé is just Queen. That’s all you know. There’s no debate, it’s nothing else to say—who’s better than Beyoncé?”
She continued, “Nobody knew I was working on the song, nobody knew we was working on the song, I didn’t tell my best friend, I didn’t tell nobody on my team. I didn’t tell anybody.”
She added, “I got a call one day and they were like, ‘Yeah, Beyoncé gonna do a remix of Savage,’ and I was like, ‘Shut the f**k up’ … I didn’t believe it—I was like, ‘Okay, whatever.'”
Megan said that she actually cried the day the song came out. She explained, “I woke up and I was like… ’cause I knew the song was coming out… but, it was still like, ‘Is it really gonna drop? Are we doing this for real for real?’ And I mean I cried… like I had to call my grandma.”
She said she spoke to Bey after the song dropped and she was “super supportive.” Megan explained, “Every time I see her she’s always like telling me, ‘Keep going, keep going hard, you really got it—do you.'”
MEGAN THEE STALLION AND BEYONCE TO BE HONORED WITH THEIR OWN DAY IN HOUSTON
In other news, Megan and Beyonce are set to be honored with their own days in Houston. Mayor Sylvester Turner said, “H-Town’s Beyoncé and Megan Thee Stallion dropped a remix that is just ‘Savage.’ Because of both artist’s contributions to uplifting our communities, holding down H-Town, & for helping us remain Houston Strong, our city will present both artists with their own respective days.
He continued, “It’s great to see proceeds from the single’s purchase will support Bread of Life. Let’s purchase & support this organization’s efforts. I look forward to connecting with both artist’s teams to find the appropriate time to make these requests a reality.”
Megan reacted to the news, saying, “Houston Hotties we’re getting a dayyyy. Beyoncé and I decided to give all artist proceeds to “bread of life” and give back to our home town Houston Texas! So make sure y’all stream for a good cause!!!”
