DANVILLE — A Danville man who has worked in the theater department and coached golf at Danville High School and also involved in the local theater scene has been arrested on sexual-abuse charges.
Police said Jordan Richey, 27, was taken into custody without incident Wednesday on a warrant charging him with four counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
Police executed a search warrant at a Danville home as part of the investigation, which remains ongoing.
Danville school district Superintendent John Hart declined to comment, citing personnel matters, but did say that because school is out for the summer and the high school’s theater department is currently on hiatus, Richey has “nothing to do with that program at this time.”
In a Wednesday afternoon email to families in the school district, Hart explained that district administration received allegations of “inappropriate conduct” regarding Richey, a teacher at DHS.
