DANVILLE — A second person has been arrested in connection with shooting two years ago at a barbershop on East Main Street that left two dead and one injured.
Danville police said they arrested Mario J. Scaife, 18, of Danville at 7:13 a.m. Friday on charges of first-degree murder and aggravated battery with a firearm.
Also facing the same charges after his arrest in October is Keshawn J. Cotton, 21. He has pleaded not guilty and pretrial proceedings are set for next week.
When Cotton was arrested, a separate warrant had been issued for a 17-year-old also suspected in the incident, police said at that time.
The Nov. 27, 2024, shooting at the barbershop in the 1900 block of East Main Street claimed the lives of Keith G. Stone, 33, of Danville and a 17-year-old male. A third victim was injured but was treated at and released from the hospital.
