Following the Who's recent playbook — the Eagles have rescheduled their 2020 Hotel California tour dates — for a full year after the fact, re-booking the trek for the fall of 2021. The tour features the band performing its 1976 masterpiece in its entirety along with other solo and group hits, and will now resume on September 16th at Denver's Pepsi Arena.
The band posted a message along with the new dates on its official website, Eagles.com:
The Eagles — Don Henley, Joe Walsh and Timothy B. Schmit, with Deacon Frey and Vince Gill – have announced that their “Hotel California” concerts in Dallas, Denver, Los Angeles, Phoenix, San Francisco, and St. Paul, have been rescheduled. Fans with tickets to the previously announced 2020 dates are encouraged to hold on to their tickets as they will be honored for the new dates. If you are unable to attend the new date, you will be able to request a refund. For more information, visit livenation.com/refund or contact your point of purchase.
Joe Walsh admitted to us that it took time and soul searching for the Eagles to find a genuine way to carry on without its leader and driving force, Glenn Frey: “We spent a long time after Glenn passed in discussions and we needed to put some time in there. But, in the course of talking, we started think 'If the Eagles continued, what would that be?' Gradually, some clarity started to come on it and we reached out to Glenn's son Deacon — and he's a pretty good musician. And he said, 'Anything I can do — I'm in.'”
