August Beanstack Reading Challenge: Back to School! This challenge is open to all ages, whether you’re heading back to the classroom or simply love to read. Set your goals, track your reading minutes throughout the month, and complete the challenge by August 31 for a chance to win our Back to School Prize Pack!
August 18: Teen Crafternoons. Tuesdays = your creative time. Hang out and make cool stuff. No sign-up, no stress. Just show up and create something awesome! This week: Air-Dry Clay – shape, sculpt, and bring your ideas to life. While supplies last. 3:30 – 4:30 PM in the 2nd Floor Teen Space. Intended for ages 13 – 19.
August 18: Wee Wigglers Story Time. Join us for action rhymes, stories, and songs for children ages 5 and under – Tuesdays at 10:00 AM in the Program Room.
August 19: Little House Lunches – Netflix’s Little House on the Prairie – Free Library Screening! Spend your lunch hour on the prairie! Join us each Wednesday in August for exclusive free screenings of this new series. Watch two episodes each week as we follow the Ingalls family’s journey across the frontier. This week: Episodes 5 & 6. Bring your own lunch, relax, and enjoy this fresh take on Laura Ingalls Wilder’s beloved classic. 12:00 – 2:00 PM in the Howard Rutan Meeting Room.
August 19: Teen Writing Club. We’ve got writing prompts and games to spark your imagination and snacks* to fuel your mind! *While supplies last. Come write, chill, and connect with other teen writers. No pressure, just good vibes, cool ideas, and a space to be creative. Wednesdays, 3:30 – 4:30 PM in the 2nd Floor Teen Space.
August 22: Full Season Saturday – Netflix’s Little House on the Prairie: Free Library Screening! Can’t make the weekly screenings or missed an episode? Settle in for a full day of all 8 episodes of Season 1. Experience the complete journey of family, resilience, and frontier adventure during this exclusive free marathon event at the library. 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM in the Howard Rutan Meeting Room.
August 22: Story Time. Have a great time listening, interacting to stories and making a fun craft! Saturdays at 11:00 AM in the Children’s Department.

American Conversation Project: We’re partnering with the American Conversation Project to record community conversations to be part of the National Public ACP Collection, marking the 250th Anniversary of the Nation. Everyone’s voice matters. Join a group of 4 – 6 fellow community members for a conversation about our community’s past, present, and future!
