THE FOLLOWING IS A DANVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT RELEASE
Danville, IL – On August 13, 2026, at approximately 1:32 a.m., officers with the Danville Police Department responded to the 1700 block of N. Franklin for a report of multiple shots fired.
Upon arrival, officers located a 36-year-old male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Officers began investigating and located evidence leading them to believe the incident occurred at a residence in the 200 block of Swisher Avenue. A search warrant was secured for the residence, and contact was made with a single resident by the Danville Police Department’s Emergency Response Unit. The resident cooperated with the Danville Police Department and further evidence was gathered on scene.
The 36-year-old male was transported to an area hospital where they currently remain in critical condition. At this time there is no ongoing threat to the public.
