The Eastern Illinois Foodbank has announced another distribution of free food will be held in Tilton on Saturday (May 16, 2020) for eligible Vermilion County families needing assistance. The drive-through distribution will be held at 1803 Georgetown Road (across from Caseys) along Illinois route one in Tilton on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30. All Vermilion County residents who meet income eligibility criteria are welcome to participate.
Anyone planning to participate is asked to pre-register at www.EIFclient.com, but doing so does not guarantee you a place in line.
The distribution is part of the Foodbank’s response to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic as a way to take supplemental food to areas of chronic or extreme need.
A single individual can receive up to $2,127 a month and still qualify for the program. A two-person household can receive up to $2,873 a month and a three-person household can get up to $3,620 a month and still qualify. If there are four people in the household, they can receive up to $4,367 a month. If there are five people in the household the total income could be up to $5,113 a month. And a six member household could receive up to $5,860 a month and still qualify for the free food program.
Anyone receiving food during Saturday’s distribution should remain in their vehicle for the drive-through event. Clients should clear a space in their trunk or back seat prior to arriving so that volunteers can load your food.
