Registration continues for summer classes at Danville Area Community College where this year students can enroll for half-price.
Laura Williams is the Dean of Adult Education and Middle College at DACC….
{‘’We’re definitely trying to meet the need of the community. We recognize that a lot of people are out of jobs, or lower-income or (on) unemployment, so we’re trying to do our best to make sure that we’re able to serve the community in this very trying time,’’ said Williams. ‘’So half-price classes, and those are college credit classes.’’}
One popular class that is back this year is called ‘From the Farm to The Fork’….
{‘’Where Dana Wheeler and Amanda Krabbe come together, and basically they teach how to grow – Amanda is our Ornamental Horticulture teacher and Dana is our Culinary Arts teacher. So, they go from planting that seed in the ground to harvesting that fruit, that tomato or whatever, to taking it into the kitchen with Dana and turning it into tomato sauce. And then – how do you can that – so it’s From the Farm to the Fork,’’ said Williams.}
