The Covid-19 pandemic is delaying the opening of the Danville Municipal Pool this year. The pool at Garfield Park was originally scheduled to open on Saturday, May 23rd. Mayor Rickey Williams Jr. says current plans call for opening the pool on June 29th, and closing this year on September 7th.
The Mayor adds the city may have to delay the opening even further, depending upon what Governor J.B. Pritzker does about extending closings. By June 29th, the Mayor notes Illinois should be in phase four of the Governor’s re-opening plan. Phase four allows for the resumption of all outdoor recreational activities.
