The COVID-19 pandemic has cancelled the Memorial Day ceremony at the VA National Cemetery in Danville. But it has not stopped citizens from being able to stop by the cemetery to place individual flags on the grave sites of loved ones.
The ceremony was cancelled in order for the National Cemetery to comply with CDC guidelines. But the VA Cemetery is open from dawn to dusk each day.
The Veterans Legacy Memorial also allows loved ones to write tributes, or comments, on any Veteran’s online memorial page. The website is https://www.vlm.cem.va.gov/. Additional information about VA cemeteries can be found at https://www.cem.va.gov/.
