A Danville man has been sentenced to 12 years in state prison for delivering heroin to an informant.
Circuit Judge Nancy Fahey sentenced Hugh Davis after hearing evidence that Davis sold heroin to a person working for the Vermilion County Metropolitan Enforcement Group on March 14, 2019 in the 900 block of Hazel Street in Danville. VMEG had recorded the transaction using eavesdropping equipment.
The drug transaction was one of a number of sales Davis made to the informant in the three months prior to the March 2019 incident.
Davis is eligible for day-to-day sentencing credit, and will be placed on parole for three years once he is released.
