Danville Area Community College will be opening its campus on a limited basis when summer classes begin on Monday (June 8, 2020). Activities on campus will be limited to essential business operations and a handful of on-campus classes.
Starting Monday the College will provide on-campus student services to address the needs of students who feel as if they are unable to conduct business over the telephone. The hours of office operations (other than scheduled class periods) will be limited to 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Services available during those times include admissions/registration, records, financial aid, academic advising, adult education, cashier, book store and the testing center.
Visits to the DACC Higher Learning Center in Hoopeston will be by appointment only by calling (217) 283-4170.
DACC President Stephen Nacco says the College is committed to doing everything conceivable to keep employees and students safe. Entry to campus buildings is limited to one door per building. Students and employees were notified earlier about entry checkpoints that will be staffed by security from 6:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. to check temperatures and masks of everyone coming onto the campus. The public is encouraged to continue to conduct business over the phone as much as possible.
Danville Area Community College has been offering classes online since the campus was closed on March 21st following the Governor’s first shelter at home order.
