Danville Police are looking for two men who were seen running from the area where another man was shot Monday night. Police were on routine patrol when they heard multiple gunshots coming from the area of Hazel and Penn Streets. The officers then found a 28-year-old Danville man lying on the sidewalk with multiple gunshot wounds.
The victim said he had been standing in the 900 block of Hazel when he was shot shortly before midnight. The victim said two black males ran from the area just after he was shot. Police say the victim was shot in the legs, arm and stomach.
The shooting was one of several reports Danville Police received late Monday or early today regarding the use of firearms. The other complaints included:
- Aggravated assault with a firearm in the 400 block of Robinson Street shortly after 7:30 p.m. Monday;
- Reckless Discharge of a Firearm shortly after 10:30 p.m. Monday (June 15, 2020) in the 100 block of North Bowman;
- Reckless Discharge of a Firearm in the 200 block of Tennessee Street shortly after midnight this morning;
- Reckless Discharge of a Firearm in the 1900 block of Deerwood Street shortly after one o’clock this morning (Tuesday, June 16th).
