Danville City Council members have agreed to spend up to $18-thousand dollars to stage a 4th of July fireworks display at Danville Stadium. The Tilton Village Board is expected to act on an intergovernmental agreement on Thursday to help. Tilton Police and firefighters would help units from Danville at the event.
Danville Alderman Mike Puhr expects a great show….
{”That aerial show is going to be just fantastic, with all the 3-inch and 4-inch and different things! It’s going to be a phenomenal show. It’s something I think that not only the citizens of Vermilion County are going to appreciate, but also residents of Danville and Tilton, and everybody is going to be able to really get out and have a great time,” said Puhr.}
Mayor Rickey Williams Jr. says the TBT Band will be playing outside the stadium on July 4th before the fireworks….
{”We have a couple of acres of grass over there where the band will be set up. And we’ll certainly allow people to set-up in a socially-distant way,” said the Mayor, ”six-feet between parties or families, you know. That way they can enjoy the bands while they’re maybe eating — having a picnic or eating from the vendors that we have.”}
Williams thanked Tilton Mayor David Phillips and the Tilton Village Board for their assistance even though Tilton’s Board does not vote on the intergovernmental agreement until Thursday.
Mayor Williams also noted Turtle Run is planning fireworks on July 3rd.
