Some Vermilion County medical professionals and nursing homes are the beneficiaries of State Senator Scott Bennett’s delivery of PPE – personal protection equipment – on Thursday. Bennett first stopped at Aunt Martha’s Health Center along North Gilbert Street….
{‘’I’ve been working with John Deere and the Illinois Manufacturers Association to kind of retool their factories to make medical supplies. So today, I have face shields – which normally would be used in a shop, or an industrial setting – but they’ve been retooled for a medical setting, and we’re dropping them off and donating them here at Aunt Martha’s for use in our community,’’ said Senator Bennett.}
The Senator also stopped by the Vermilion County Health Department to drop off a gift from Taiwan….
{‘’Taiwan was good enough to sign a contract for billions of dollars for Illinois agriculture last fall. We went up to the Governor’s office and signed it. And they reached out to me a couple of weeks ago and said: ‘Hey, we’ve got a lot of masks. We want to donate it to your district, and we’d love for you to get it to the nursing homes in Vermilion County,’’ said Bennett during an interview with VermilionCountyFirst.com News Thursday.}
Senator Bennett serves as chairman of the Illinois Senate Agriculture Committee.
