Danville Area Community College Trustees have ratified a new four year contract with the Danville Area Community College Classified Staff Association. DACC President Stephen Nacco commented after the vote….
{‘’I just can’t say enough about the Board supporting and understanding that our Classified employees here – it’s about 50 employees – are totally dedicated to this college. They are people who are clerical workers. They are people who fix buildings. They are people who clean and sweep, and they’ve been really involved in everything that we’ve had to do in sanitizing everyplace we go,’’ said Nacco.}
The agreement allows for a three percent increase in each of the four years, and also provides an additional $500 to be added to the base salary of employees obtaining a 5-year milestone year. As an incentive not to use sick days, employees will earn half of a vacation day for each month that no sick leave is used. Another incentive to help recruit and retain students is a $500 stipend if credit hours increase 2-percent overall per fiscal year.
”With many new and unprecedented challenges this year, the members of the Classified Union have demonstrated great commitment to the success of the College and our students, and have provided essential services during very trying times,” said DACC President Stephen Nacco.
Board members also approved a salary adjustment for DACC employees who are not part of any bargaining unit. It includes a 3-percent increase to the base for FY2021.
