Events are resuming at Danville’s historic Fischer Theatre. Jason Rome, Executive Director of the Fischer Theatre and Vermilion Heritage Foundation, says the theatre will be operating at a limited capacity.
Currently, Rome says the Fischer will be able to accomodate up to 50 people on the main floor, 50 in the mezzanine level and another 50 in the balcony area for certain events. And Rome says he is confident they will be able to conduct events and follow social distancing guidelines.
The Fischer is now hosting “Yoga on the Stage” on Wednesdays, and a number of movies are going to be shown at the Fischer during July, including:
- The Patriot on July 2 at 7 p.m.
- Just Mercy on July 9 at 7 p.m.
- Abominable at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. July 16
- Sweet Home Alabama at 7 p.m. July 18
- Dazed and Confused at 7 p.m. July 23
- Anchorman at 7 p.m. July 25.
Rome notes you can also still rent the Fischer for private parties, or donate to become a “Friend of the Fischer.”
